a&l + al.ive body hq, somerton park
2020 is the year that will go down in history as one that held so much uncertainty for many. It is also the year that we had set to grow our existing Alisa & Lysandra Interiors business and launch our new personal care brand, al.ive body®. While so much is changing due to Covid-19, and we all had to pivot in one way or another, one of our main goals for us this year was to set up a new office to accommodate our new team members and new business venture. So, we went on the hunt and found the perfect office space where we could set down some roots and transform it into our very own HQ.
We’re so excited to reveal our new headquarters located in Somerton Park, South Australia, and show you how we transformed this bland, uninspiring office space into a warm and inviting place for our entire team to work from every day. We have posted some sneak peeks on social media and had a lot of people asking questions about the products we used, so we thought we’d share a little more with you.
Like with any renovation, it is important to look at what items are going to create the most impact, especially when you are working with a large space. For us it was looking at what colours and textures we could bring into the office. With so many walls, we decided to add some colour with Taubmans Eucalypt as we wanted something calming but also nature inspired. For those of you that have trouble finding the exact colour shade, make sure you check out the Coloursmith App as it allows you to upload photos, create your colour and order a test pot – AMAZING! We also added some Easycraft VJ panelling to add some texture, interest and cohesions throughout each space. And the best part, it was super simple to install which is always an added bonus! We added a beautiful wallpaper from Milton and King to some of the walls, the soft hues of Travelers Palm in Beige created a timeless feel whilst adding warmth and sophistication. To pay homage to al.ive body®, we used one of our favourite brand images and had Pickawall turn it into a wallpaper which is our main feature when you first walk in. Breath-taking!
What drew us to this property the most, was the huge amount of natural light that both sides received, however, unfortunately the existing roller blinds did not make use of the beautiful afternoon light. Cue Ian and the team from Rundle Blinds & Curtains who measured and fitted our beautiful window dressings. We absolutely love the softness and cosiness our linen curtains have brought to each space.
Then the fun part… dressing the room with so many amazing furniture pieces, including our custom round table from Built Furniture. It is stunning, and we love the attention to detail in the chevron base and the overall quality and craftsmanship is next level. To match this beauty of a table, we needed to find some chairs that would hold their own! And we did just that with the Laforma Sheryl chair in green. To say these chairs are stunning would be an understatement. They have curves in all the right places and the colour compliments the colour of the walls and the surround natural timber beautifully. Lastly, to finish off each working station, we chose the lush velvet Kimbra chair from Home Buy with gold accents for our office chairs.
As we head into Spring, we are itching to utilise our balcony area… all we can say is that Friday afternoon knock off drinks have never looked so good. Our little tropical oasis is centred by our Eleve outdoor setting from Home Buy and the lush plant and pot selections from Husk Projects.
